Rep. Ritchie Torres, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 15th district since 2021, recently addressed two issues on his social media account: airline pricing practices and housing conditions in the Bronx.

On April 16, 2026, Torres posted about contacting major airline CEOs regarding fare structures. He wrote, “I wrote to the CEOs of Delta, United, JetBlue + Southwest with a simple message: if airline pricing is tied to fuel costs on the way up, it has to be tied to fuel costs on the way down. No more one-way pricing. Commit to passing savings on to consumers.”

Three days later, on April 19, 2026, Torres highlighted concerns about property management in his district. He stated, “For years, Ved Parkash has subjected Bronx tenants to rats, fires, no heat, and zero repairs. Now, his buildings are in foreclosure. The Community Preservation Corporation must make sure these properties never end up in the hands of another slumlord.” In a subsequent post at the same time he shared a link without additional comment: “https://t.co/zpa2Cs0QUO”

Torres was born in The Bronx in 1988 and continues to reside there as he serves his congressional term. He succeeded José E. Serrano as representative for New York’s 15th district after Serrano’s retirement in 2021.
