Ritchie Torres, a U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 15th district, recently shared updates on his activities and views through a series of tweets. Torres has been serving in Congress since 2021, succeeding José E. Serrano. Born in The Bronx in 1988, he continues to reside there while advocating for his constituents.

On March 17, 2025, Torres highlighted his meeting with MBA students working on an apprenticeship program aimed at educating and training the next generation of skilled tradespeople in the Bronx. He commended their efforts by stating: “Today, I met with MBA students who are working to create an apprenticeship program in the Bronx to educate and train the next generation of skilled tradespeople. They are doing great work!”

The following day, March 18, 2025, Torres expressed concern over former President Donald Trump’s impact on healthcare coverage for his constituents. He tweeted: “Donald Trump is coming after the healthcare coverage of nearly half a million of my constituents.”

Later that same day, Torres participated in House Democrats’ Medicaid Day of Action. He emphasized the importance of Medicaid by tweeting: “Today is House Democrats’ Medicaid Day of Action. Make no mistake: the Republican assault on Medicaid is an assault on our most vulnerable — our babies, children, and senior citizens.”
