Rep. Ritchie Torres, who represents New York’s 15th district in the U.S. Congress and resides in The Bronx, recently addressed a range of topics on his social media account, including community celebrations, education policy, and a Supreme Court decision.

On February 18, 2026, Torres extended greetings to constituents for the Lunar New Year: “Happy Lunar New Year to all celebrating in the Bronx and beyond! May this year bring prosperity, joy, and strength to you and your family.”

Two days later, on February 19, 2026, Torres highlighted concerns about proposed federal graduate loan caps during an event at Fordham University with higher education leaders and Rep. George Latimer: “Today at Fordham, I joined higher ed leaders from across New York and @RepGLatimer to discuss the real consequences of new federal graduate loan caps under the so-called ‘One Big Beautiful Bill.’ These changes threaten access to advanced degrees and the workforce our communities”.

On February 20, 2026, Torres commented on a recent Supreme Court ruling regarding presidential authority over tariffs: “The Supreme Court got this one right. No president has the power to unilaterally impose sweeping tariffs across the world without clear authorization from Congress. The rule of law must still matter.”

Torres has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after succeeding José E. Serrano. Born in The Bronx in 1988 and currently residing there at age 35, he continues to represent local interests at the national level.
