The New York Rangers have traded forward Artemi Panarin to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Liam Greentree, a conditional third-round pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft, and a conditional fourth-round pick in the 2028 NHL Entry Draft. The announcement was made by Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury.
Liam Greentree, 20, is currently playing for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). This season, he has scored 23 goals and provided 22 assists over 34 games. He ranks third on his team in goals, fourth in points, and fifth in assists.
Greentree is from Oshawa, Ontario and has played four seasons with Windsor. Over that period, he has recorded a total of 299 points—133 goals and 166 assists—in 223 OHL games. He has served as captain of the Spitfires for three seasons. Last year, Greentree finished third among all OHL players in points with 119, fourth in goals with 49, and fifth in assists with 70. In postseason play with Windsor, he has tallied 14 goals and 11 assists across 15 games.
Internationally, Greentree has represented Team Canada at several tournaments such as the World Junior Championships this year and previous U18 Championships.
He was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings as their first-round pick (26th overall) during the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
