Prospects across Minor League Baseball are under close observation as the Trade Deadline approaches. With many players potentially changing organizations, performances in recent games could have significant implications.
On Sunday, several prospects showcased their skills. Carson Benge of Binghamton had an impressive game, achieving his first career multihomer game by the second inning. “He matched a season high with four hits, reached base five times, scored four runs and drove in three.” This performance continues a strong stretch for Benge, who is hitting .350 with a 1.046 OPS over 21 Double-A games.
Leo De Vries of Fort Wayne displayed his power with a solo home run. Kevin McGonigle of Erie also stood out by driving in two runs and scoring another with two doubles in his latest effort.
Bryce Eldridge of Sacramento hit his fourth homer in six games after recovering from early injuries this season. Eduardo Tait of Jersey Shore had a productive game with three hits and two RBIs.
Jesús Rodriguez from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre shone brightly for the Triple-A RailRaiders by hitting two three-run homers for a career-high six RBIs. Despite playing as the designated hitter, Rodriguez is the regular catcher and has been performing well at the plate this year.
Other notable performances include Gage Stanifer’s eight strikeouts over five innings for Vancouver and Didier Fuentes’ nine strikeouts across five innings for Gwinnett.
