New York University lost to the University of Chicago in their last regular season University Athletic Association baseball game on April 26 at J. Kyle Anderson Field in Chicago, Illinois.

The match concluded a four-game series between the two teams, with the Maroons holding a 3-0 lead before the final contest. With this win, Chicago secured the UAA regular season title.

NYU made several attempts to overcome Chicago but ultimately fell short with a score of 13-10. The Maroons started strong by scoring seven runs in the first inning and extended their lead with a home run in the second. Harrison Blueweiss responded for NYU with his own home run in the third inning.

The Violets rallied further in the fourth inning, narrowing Chicago’s lead to 8-5 after key hits from Blueweiss and Kosta Mocklis set up Max Oliveira’s two-run double. In the sixth inning, NYU tied the game at nine before Chicago scored four more runs in their half of that frame.

In the ninth inning, NYU loaded the bases but managed only one more run before Chicago ended both the game and series sweep with a double play. Notable statistics from NYU included Blueweiss hitting his fourth home run of this season and Oliveira matching his season-high four RBIs during this matchup. CJ Franchini recorded at least one RBI in fifteen out of eighteen UAA games played.

Looking ahead, NYU will host Vassar College on April 29 in Staten Island. The last time these teams met earlier this month, NYU won by shutting out Vassar 10-0.
