NYU track & field wraps up UAA Indoor Championships; prepares for Tufts meet

The New York University men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded their participation in the University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Championships on Sunday, March 1, in Waltham, Massachusetts.

For the men’s team, the mile race was a highlight of the competition. Liam Hagerty finished second with a time of 4:12.15. He was followed closely by Theodore Udelson-Nee in third place at 4:12.25 and Huckleberry Oakes who placed fifth with a time of 4:13.96. Tyler Burch contributed another point for the men by finishing the 60-meter dash in 7.08 seconds.

On the women’s side, NYU collected 18 points in the 3000-meter race. Stella Kuttner secured second place with a time of 9:39.14, while Katherine Cochran finished third at 9:44.72 and Janie Cooper took fifth place at 9:46.58.

Other scorers for NYU women included Gianna Dawson, who finished seventh in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:18.96, and Emily Castles, who placed eighth in the 5000-meter race at 17:43.07.

In field events on Sunday, Amalia Hronides came eighth in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.54 meters.

Alexa McMillian achieved second place in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 11.48 meters.

NYU’s track and field teams are scheduled to compete next at Tufts University’s Last Chance Meet in Medford, Massachusetts from March 6-7.
