NYU men’s golf sits fourth after first day at RPI Invitational

The New York University men’s golf team participated in the first day of the RPI Men’s Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, October 5. The event is taking place at Shaker Ridge Country Club in Loudonville, New York, and is hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

After the opening round, NYU holds fourth place on the team leaderboard with a cumulative score of +17. Swarthmore College and RPI are tied for first with scores of +11.

Jomyuth Luangtana-anan led the NYU Violets individually, finishing the day in fourth place after shooting a 72 (+1). He made birdies on holes four, seven, and 13 but finished one over par due to difficulties on the last five holes.

Qi Liu completed his round with a score of 74 (+3), placing just outside the top ten. Liu recorded consecutive birdies on both the front and back nine. Oscar Uribe (+6) and Kai Nam Ryan Leung (+7) also contributed to NYU’s team score.

The tournament will conclude on Monday, October 6, with the final round.
