NYU Langone Health has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the top medical center in the United States for four specialties: neurology and neurosurgery, cardiology, heart and vascular surgery, pulmonology and lung surgery, and geriatrics. This marks the fourth consecutive year that NYU Langone has led the nation in neurology and neurosurgery.

The annual “Best Hospitals” rankings from U.S. News & World Report also placed NYU Langone on its Honor Roll of the top 20 hospitals nationwide and ranked it among the best hospitals in the New York metropolitan area. These honors apply to several NYU Langone facilities, including Tisch Hospital, Kimmel Pavilion, NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in Manhattan, NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn.

Robert I. Grossman, MD, CEO of NYU Langone and dean of NYU Grossman School of Medicine said, “Thanks to the incredible employees working across our integrated health system, NYU Langone has achieved something unmatched this year: the most top-ranked medical specialties among any of our peers across the nation. NYU Langone has always maintained one consistently high standard of care, regardless of location and specialty, allowing us to consistently deliver the best quality and outcomes to our patients.”

All 13 clinical specialties ranked at NYU Langone were listed among the top 20 nationally; nine were in the top five. The health system also received high performing designations for all common care procedures and conditions assessed by U.S. News & World Report this year—including new categories such as heart arrhythmia and pacemaker implantation.

NYU Langone Health operates a fully integrated health system focused on quality outcomes for patients. The organization has some of the lowest mortality rates in the country according to Vizient Inc., which named it No. 1 out of 115 comprehensive academic medical centers nationwide for three consecutive years. The health system includes seven inpatient locations, Perlmutter Cancer Center, more than 320 outpatient sites in New York and Florida, two tuition-free medical schools (in Manhattan and Long Island), a large research enterprise, and reported $14.2 billion in revenue this year.
