Columbia University men’s basketball players Kenny Noland and Miles Franklin have received Ivy League weekly honors, according to an announcement from the conference on Monday.

Noland, a senior, was named Ivy League Player of the Week. Franklin, a first-year player, earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Both athletes contributed significantly in Columbia’s 90-82 victory against North Florida on Sunday. Noland scored 27 points, tying his career-high, and made nine out of fifteen shots. He also hit four three-pointers, collected four rebounds, and had three assists. With this performance, Noland has now achieved six games with at least 20 points this season and is 28 points away from reaching 1,000 career points.

Franklin recorded a personal best of 19 points in the same game and matched his career-high with seven rebounds. The Vienna, Virginia native was successful on six out of twelve field goal attempts and converted seven out of eight free throws. This marks Franklin’s seventh game scoring in double figures this season.

Columbia holds a record of 10 wins and three losses so far this season. The team will host PSU Abington on Wednesday at Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium for their final non-conference matchup.

“Columbia men’s basketball senior Kenny Noland has been named Ivy League Player of the Week, while first-year Miles Franklin garnered Ivy League Rookie of the Week,” stated the conference announcement.
