Nine New York City FC players receive international call-ups for October

Nine players from New York City FC have been called up to represent their countries during the October international window. The group includes both senior and youth national team selections.

Alonso Martínez, a forward from Costa Rica, has been selected for his national team as they play World Cup Qualifiers against Honduras on October 9 and Nicaragua on October 13.

Mitja Ilenič will join Slovenia’s U-21 squad in their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification campaign. Slovenia faces Israel on October 10 and Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 14.

Goalkeeper Tomás Romero has received a call-up from El Salvador for their World Cup Qualifiers. He will play against Panama on October 10 and Guatemala on October 14, with both matches held in El Salvador.

Matt Freese is set to travel with the U.S. Men’s National Team for games against Ecuador on October 10 and Australia, represented by Aiden O’Neill, on October 14. O’Neill will also play Canada in Montréal on October 10.

Midfielder Máximo Carrizo will participate in a domestic training camp with the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team in Fayetteville, Georgia, from October 6–10 before joining the United States roster for the U-17 World Cup.

Drew Baiera and Jonny Shore have been called up to the U.S. U-19 Men’s National Team for an international training camp in Marbella, Spain, taking place from October 6–15. The team will compete against Northern Ireland on October 11 and Belgium on October 14.

Seymour Reid rounds out the list with his first senior call-up to Jamaica’s national team for World Cup Qualifiers against Curaçao on October 10 and Bermuda in Kingston on October 14.
