Netflix released a promotional trailer on March 12 for its first Major League Baseball Opening Night broadcast, which will feature the New York Yankees facing the San Francisco Giants. The game is scheduled to take place at Oracle Park with the first pitch set for 8:05 p.m. Eastern Time on March 25.

This event marks the start of the 2026 MLB season and is significant as it represents Netflix’s debut in broadcasting regular-season baseball games under a three-year media rights agreement formed with Major League Baseball in November.

The trailer highlights the anticipation surrounding Opening Night, stating, “It’s the first game of the season, and we all remember the first.”

In addition to this year’s Opening Night, Netflix will also broadcast MLB’s Opening Night games in both 2027 and 2028. The streaming service has secured exclusive coverage of other major events as well, including this year’s Home Run Derby and the Field of Dreams Game scheduled for August 13, 2026.

The upcoming matchup features several notable storylines. Aaron Judge leads a Yankees team aiming to end a World Series title drought that has lasted sixteen seasons. On the other side, Rafael Devers and Logan Webb are key players for a Giants squad hoping to return to postseason play for the first time since 2021.

As Netflix expands its sports programming portfolio with these broadcasts, fans can expect more live baseball content from the platform over the next several years.
