New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE) has inaugurated the Center for Refractive Solutions, marking it as the first comprehensive center of its kind in New York City. The facility offers advanced treatment options for individuals needing refractive correction, including premium cataract surgery and corneal refractive procedures like LASIK.
Located at 310 East 14th Street in Lower Manhattan, the center is designed to cater exclusively to patients seeking cataract or corneal refractive procedures. “We’re now able to offer our patients more complete and efficient access to premium services, including intraocular lens implants, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and custom LASIK,” stated Kira Manusis, MD, Director of the Center for Refractive Solutions and Co-Director of Cataract Services at NYEE.
The facility features state-of-the-art imaging technology that allows ophthalmic specialists to create tailored surgical plans based on detailed measurements of each patient’s eye. This personalized approach aims to reduce reliance on glasses while providing optimal vision quality.
Surgeons at the center perform a variety of minimally invasive refractive procedures addressing visual issues such as difficulty seeing distances or close-up and blurry vision. These procedures aim to enhance vision without the need for glasses or contact lenses.
“NYEE is delighted to offer a state-of-the-art center offering patients innovative solutions to address their complex refractive issues,” said James C. Tsai, MD, MBA, President of NYEE. He emphasized the experienced clinical team and cutting-edge technology assembled at the new center.
Paul Sidoti, MD, Chair of Ophthalmology at NYEE, highlighted the institution’s longstanding reputation for excellent ophthalmic care: “This new center will provide a venue for our surgeons and staff to deliver the highest-quality services.”
