The Mount Sinai Hospital has been named among the top 20 hospitals in the United States for care excellence by U.S. News & World Report for 2025-26. This marks the tenth consecutive year that the hospital appears on the publication’s “Honor Roll.” The hospital achieved top-10 rankings in five specialties, an increase from four last year, and placed in the top 20 in nine specialties, up from eight in 2024. In total, Mount Sinai was nationally ranked in 12 specialties and received a “High Performing” rating in all 22 procedures and conditions evaluated by U.S. News. The hospital was also recognized for its Health Equity Score, which highlights its efforts to provide quality care across all socioeconomic groups.

Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West were nationally ranked in five specialties each and rated “High Performing” in 16 procedures and conditions this year, an increase from 12 last year. Mount Sinai South Nassau earned a “High Performing” rating in nine procedures and conditions, up from six previously. According to U.S. News & World Report, only a small minority of hospitals receive this highest possible rating.

“These rankings once again reflect the commitment to science, innovation, and the exceptional, patient-centered care that define The Mount Sinai Hospital and our entire Health System,” said Brendan G. Carr, MD, MA, MS, Chief Executive Officer and the Kenneth L. Davis, MD, Distinguished Chair of Mount Sinai Health System. “This recognition is a testament to the strength of One Mount Sinai—a unified team of physicians, nurses, and staff across all our hospitals and care settings who deliver compassionate, high-quality care to every patient, every day.”

“This remarkable recognition is a testament to the extraordinary dedication and compassion of our clinicians and caregivers, who go above and beyond every day to deliver the most advanced care with dignity, respect, and without regard to a patient’s background or financial means,” said David L. Reich, MD, President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Chief Clinical Officer of the Mount Sinai Health System. “It is a profound honor to lead and collaborate with a team so deeply committed to placing patients and their families at the heart of everything we do.”

“We are incredibly proud that both Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside have been nationally ranked in five specialties and rated ‘High Performing’ in 16 procedures and conditions by U.S. News & World Report,” said Tracy Breen, MD, President of Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside. “These distinctions reflect the exceptional dedication of our physicians, nurses, and staff who work tirelessly to deliver outstanding compassionate care to our patients and communities every day. It is an honor to see their commitment to clinical excellence and innovation recognized on a national stage.”

U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide across multiple specialties as well as procedures or conditions each year through criteria such as patient survival rates safety data nurse staffing levels among other measures produced with RTI International based in Research Triangle Park North Carolina.

For its third consecutive year U.S.News did not assign numerical rankings for hospitals on its Honor Roll stating that numerical distinctions may not meaningfully differentiate between institutions.

The Best Hospitals rankings are designed as a resource for patients seeking specialized or complex medical care due to age or health risks.

Also ranked nationally were Rehabilitation at No.21 Pulmonology/Lung Surgery at No.21 Ear Nose/Throat at No.35 for The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Mount Sinai Morningside/Mount Sinai West increased their number of high-performing ratings compared with last year while South Nassau also improved its performance.
