While Major League Baseball’s postseason is underway, attention has shifted to prospects as MLB Pipeline released an updated Top 100 Prospects list. The update comes during a quiet period between the end of the Minor League season and the start of the Arizona Fall League.
The latest adjustments include a revote on the top 15 spots, significant moves for players up or down by at least 10 positions, and replacements for those who have dropped out of the rankings. According to MLB Pipeline, these changes are not a full overhaul but serve to provide a more accurate picture of prospect status heading into the offseason.
Konnor Griffin (Pirates) remains at No. 1, followed by Kevin McGonigle (Tigers) and Leo De Vries (Athletics). Jesús Made (Brewers) moved up one spot to fourth after strong performances late in the season. Nolan McLean (Mets) made a notable jump from No. 36 to No. 11 after posting a 2.06 ERA with 57 strikeouts in eight starts and demonstrating improved control.
“This isn’t a complete revamp, like those we do before each season and again in August. But it does help us paint a more accurate picture of the state of prospects heading into the offseason,” according to MLB Pipeline.
Among new faces on the list is Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz, right-handed pitcher for the Yankees, debuting at No. 97. Rodriguez-Cruz was acquired from Boston last offseason and continued his velocity gains this year, recording 176 strikeouts over three levels with his fastball reaching up to 99 mph.
Spencer Jones, an outfielder in the Yankees’ system, experienced one of the largest drops among ranked players, falling from No. 86 to No. 99 due in part to high strikeout rates late in Triple-A play.
Other prospects saw significant movement: Rainiel Rodriguez (Cardinals) rose from No. 93 to No. 55 after hitting 20 home runs across three levels; Carter Jensen (Royals) climbed from No. 66 to No. 39 following his promotion and strong performance with Kansas City; Robby Snelling (Marlins), Alfredo Duno (Reds), and Kaelen Culpepper (Twins) also posted substantial gains based on their respective seasons.
Several players dropped off entirely due to injuries or performance declines, including Jefferson Rojas (Cubs), Logan Henderson (Brewers), and Felnin Celesten (Mariners).
The Dodgers now have seven prospects on the Top 100 list following additions Jackson Ferris and Emil Morales alongside existing names.
As teams look ahead toward next season, these rankings offer insight into which young talents could impact their organizations soon.
