In one post from that date, Novakhov stated: “3/ @NYCSanitation shared that during this storm, the City has already removed and melted 300 million pounds of snow using 27 snow melters, each capable of melting about 120 tons per hour. These machines have been running 24/7 at approved sites in every borough.”
Another tweet highlighted measures taken by city agencies to protect vulnerable populations: “6/ DHS reported that an enhanced Code Blue was activated, with outreach teams in every borough working with NYPD to engage unsheltered individuals — before and during storms.”
