Michael Novakhov, a member of the New York State Assembly representing a Brooklyn district, used social media on February 14, 2026, to highlight his ongoing community engagement and legislative efforts.

On February 14, Novakhov wrote about his meeting with local stakeholders: “Met with the South Brooklyn Health Community Advisory Board to discuss ways to strengthen South Brooklyn Health and improve services for our community. I will continue working closely with hospital leadership and the Advisory Board to deliver real improvements for our community.”

Later that day, he acknowledged an area leader’s service: “Proud to present a NYS Assembly Proclamation to Theresa Scavo for her decades of leadership and service to Southern Brooklyn. Our community is stronger because of her dedication. Thank you for everything you do.”

Novakhov also marked the holiday by sharing: “Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!”

Novakhov immigrated from the former USSR with his family and later co-founded Freedom FM, a Russian-language radio station in New York City. He won election to the State Assembly in 2022 as a member of the Republican Party (official website). In office, Novakhov has prioritized addressing rising crime affecting specific communities, increasing affordability in health care and housing, and improving quality of life for residents in his district.
