Michael Novakhov, a New York State Assemblyman and member of the Republican Party, recently used his social media platform to highlight issues ranging from school safety and antisemitism to police recognition and state budget concerns.

On March 11, 2026, Novakhov expressed gratitude for an event supporting Jewish schools. He posted, “Thank you to @TeachNYS for hosting tonight’s legislative reception in Albany. Jewish schools should always be safe places for children to learn and grow. At a time when antisemitism is rising, we must make it clear that protecting our students and our community is not optional. I”.

The following day, on March 12, 2026, Novakhov acknowledged law enforcement efforts at a local precinct meeting. He wrote, “My office was honored to attend the monthly NYPD 61st Precinct Council meeting and present citations to the heroic officers recognized as Cops of the Month for January and February, as well as the recipient of the quarterly Auxiliary award.

Thank you to Deputy Inspector Antonio”.

Later that same day, Novakhov criticized Assembly Democrats’ approach to state budgeting. He stated, “Instead of addressing affordability, crime, and the rising cost of living, Assembly Democrats are pushing a budget packed with higher taxes and far-left experiments. New Yorkers deserve better. I will continue fighting for lower taxes, less bureaucracy, and a budget that actually”.

Novakhov immigrated from the former USSR with his family before establishing himself in New York’s political landscape (official website). He won election to the State Assembly in 2022 after spending two decades in radio broadcasting and co-founding Freedom FM in 2019 (official website). As an assemblyman representing his district since then (official website), Novakhov has focused on tackling rising crime targeting specific communities—including Jewish communities—enhancing affordability in health care and housing, and maintaining quality of life (official website).
