Michael Novakhov, a member of the New York State Assembly representing a Brooklyn district, addressed topics ranging from national leadership to local accountability and community engagement in a series of posts on February 16, 2026.

In his first post marking Presidents Day, Novakhov reflected on American values: “From the founding of our Republic to today, the strength of America has always rested on leadership guided by integrity and love of country. On Presidents Day, we honor that tradition. “ (February 16, 2026).

Later that day, Novakhov called for an investigation into the New York City Department of Health following reports about staff conduct: “Another @nycHealthy staffer with genocidal rhetoric resurfaces. He predates Mamdani, but silence from City Hall now speaks volumes. If this keeps happening inside city agencies, it’s the Mayor’s responsibility to confront it. There must be a full investigation into @nycHealthy.” (February 16, 2026).

In his final post of the day, Novakhov commented on Republican Party activities in Brooklyn: “Great night at the Brooklyn GOP Lincoln Day Gala. Thank you Chairman Liam McCabe and Vice Chairwoman Svetlana Zelinskaya for the strong leadership and for bringing Republicans from across our borough together. Events like this show the energy and momentum building in Brooklyn.” (February 16, 2026).

Novakhov is affiliated with the Republican Party and was elected to the State Assembly in 2022 (official website). He immigrated from the former USSR with his family before entering public service and spent two decades in radio broadcasting as co-founder of Freedom FM (official website). As an assemblyman representing Brooklyn, he has prioritized addressing crime targeting specific communities and improving access to affordable health care and housing (official website).
