The Maimonides Golf Classic has successfully raised $397,240 to support the Pediatric Infusion Center at Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn. The funds will be used for essential improvements such as state-of-the-art equipment, enhanced safety features, and creating a more child-friendly environment for young patients and their families. Maimonides is notable for being the only children’s hospital and pediatric trauma center in Brooklyn, as well as the borough’s sole member of the Children’s Oncology Group.
Dr. Jeffrey Avner, Chair of Pediatrics at Maimonides Children’s Hospital and Chair of the Golf Committee for this year’s event, expressed gratitude towards participants and sponsors. “We’re incredibly grateful for all our participants and sponsors—those new to the Golf Classic and those providing continued support for Maimonides year after year,” he said. He emphasized that the funds will enhance their ability to provide high-quality infusion services in a patient-centered healing environment.
Ken Gibbs, President and CEO of Maimonides Health, highlighted the significance of community involvement in their mission. “The Annual Golf Classic is an opportunity to connect with community members and local businesses who support our mission of providing Brooklynites with access to critically needed world-class medical services,” he stated.
Compass One Healthcare was the Title Sponsor for the second consecutive year, supporting Maimonides through various hospital operations including food services and clinical support. Over 40 businesses contributed to this year’s event, including Barr & Barr, Pure Project Management, Bensonhurst Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, Long & DeLosa Construction, Blue Hill Data Services, Boro Park Center, Gallagher, Kelley Drye among others.
Last year’s tournament generated $355,000 which supported the Maimonides Heart and Vascular Institute.
