Jasson Domínguez of the New York Yankees has been ranked fifth in the latest MLB.com Rookie of the Year poll, which surveys 33 voters to assess top rookie performances in both leagues. The poll uses a points system, with voters ranking their top five choices in each league based on both current season performance and projected contributions through the remainder of the year.

Domínguez began the season slowly, posting a .224/.315/.357 slash line up to early May. Since then, he has improved his numbers to .265/.336/.402 with seven home runs. His highlights include a three-homer game against Oakland on May 9 and a two-homer effort versus the Mets on July 4. A strong finish could help him move up in the rankings.

“Domínguez got off to a slow start this season, taking a .224/.315/.357 slash line with him into play on May 6. But since then, he’s held his own, slashing .265/.336/.402 with seven homers, including a three-homer outburst on May 9 against the A’s and a two-homer performance on July 4 against the Mets. With a strong finish to the season, he could raise his stock in the AL Rookie of the Year race, though he has stiff competition, as we can see on this list.”

The top spot in American League voting went to Nick Kurtz of Oakland after his historic six-hit game that included four home runs and raised his OPS above 1.300 for recent weeks. Jacob Wilson, also from Oakland and previously leading these rankings, fell due to injury—a fractured left forearm suffered at the end of July—which may impact his award chances if he does not return soon.

Roman Anthony of Boston moved up after signing an eight-year contract extension and boosting his offensive stats. Noah Cameron from Kansas City continued an impressive debut by maintaining one of the lowest ERAs among rookies.

Other Yankees players receiving votes include Will Warren.

In National League voting, Drake Baldwin (Braves) leads after key performances at bat this month. Agustín Ramírez (Marlins), Isaac Collins (Brewers), Jacob Misiorowski (Brewers), and Cade Horton (Cubs) round out that league’s top five rookies.

Additional American League rookies receiving votes are Carlos Narváez (Red Sox), Chandler Simpson (Rays), Cam Smith (Astros), Jacob Lopez (A’s), Colson Montgomery (White Sox), Jack Leiter (Rangers), and Braydon Fisher (Blue Jays).

National League honorable mentions include Chase Burns (Reds), Chad Patrick (Brewers), Caleb Durbin (Brewers), Matt Shaw (Cubs), Jack Dreyer (Dodgers), Hyeseong Kim (Dodgers), Heriberto Hernández (Marlins), Brad Lord (Nationals) and Liam Hicks (Marlins).

The full results reflect both recent achievements and anticipated contributions for each player as teams approach the end of the regular season.
