Hakeem Jeffries, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 8th district since 2013, posted a series of tweets on February 25, 2026, criticizing former President Donald Trump and his administration.

In his first post at 01:02 UTC, Jeffries wrote, “Donald Trump is on his way to the Capitol. Make sure to bring Tariff refund checks with you.”

Later that morning at 02:11 UTC, he questioned Trump’s economic promises by stating, “Donald Trump promised to lower costs on Day 1 of his presidency. It’s now Day 401. Is your life more affordable?”

In a third tweet at 04:13 UTC, Jeffries commented on presidential efforts against fraud: “The President announced a war on fraud. You can begin with the most corrupt administration in American history. The Trump Cartel.”
