Hakeem Jeffries, U.S. Congressman representing New York’s 8th district since 2013, posted a series of tweets on September 3 and 4, 2025, criticizing House Republicans and calling for the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein.

On September 3, Jeffries wrote: “The House Republican One Big Ugly Bill rips healthcare away from millions of people and is deeply unpopular. Meanwhile. Democrats continue to expose the White House cover-up on the Epstein files.”

The following day, he intensified his call for transparency regarding the Epstein investigation by tweeting: “Who are House Republicans trying to protect? Release the Epstein files. Now.”

Later that same day, Jeffries criticized Robert F. Kennedy Jr., writing: “Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is a disgrace. Something is clearly wrong with this conspiracy peddling so-called Secretary of Health and Human Services. You deserve better.”

Jeffries has served in Congress since replacing Edolphus Towns in 2013 and previously represented Brooklyn neighborhoods as a member of the New York State Assembly from 2007 to 2012. Born in Brooklyn in 1970, Jeffries holds degrees from Binghamton University and New York University School of Law.
