U.S. Representative Grace Meng, who has represented New York’s 6th district in Congress since 2013, recently posted a series of statements on her official social media account addressing economic concerns, international incidents, and government spending decisions.
On July 15, Meng criticized the current administration for failing to deliver on promises regarding consumer prices: “The Administration promised to lower costs for gas and groceries on day one. Six months in and we are only seeing prices continue to rise. Working families need relief!”
In another post dated July 16, Meng addressed the killing of an American citizen abroad: “The murder of Saif Mussallet, an American citizen, was a tragedy and an act of violence. My deepest condolences go out to his family and loved ones. I urge the Israeli authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and for all parties, including the Palestinian Authority, to”
Later that same day, Meng commented on recent developments involving artificial intelligence contracts with the U.S. Department of Defense: “Not even one week after Grok’s antisemitic outburst, @DeptofDefense announced it will pay xAI $200 million to use the chatbot. Instead of rewarding Grok for spreading hate online, we should be using that money for something productive, like establishing guardrails for AI or”
Grace Meng has been active in national politics since replacing Gary Ackerman in Congress in 2013 after previously serving in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens at age 47, she holds degrees from both the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
