Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, has recently addressed issues ranging from student engagement in technology to federal food assistance through a series of posts on her social media account.
On September 17, 2025, Meng promoted youth participation in technology by posting: “Happy #NationalAppChallengeDay! I’m encouraging all middle & high school students in NY-06 to participate in my Congressional App Challenge. Submissions are due by October 30. Details https://t.co/xoSL5Cp4JN”.
Later that day, she criticized the withholding of federal funding for food pantries and called for immediate action from the administration: “Withholding federal funding is illegal. Doing so at the expense of food pantries that serve hungry families is unconscionable. I’ve been calling on the Administration to release this funding for months. Grocery costs are soaring, and families need relief now.”
The following morning, Meng highlighted the broader impact of SNAP benefits in New York, writing: “In New York, SNAP benefits aren’t just feeding hungry families, they’re supporting hundreds of jobs. GOP cuts to food assistance will be devastating to the families and local businesses that rely on them.

Born in Queens in 1975 and currently residing there, she holds degrees from both the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
