Grace Meng, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 6th district, recently shared her thoughts on various topics through social media posts. Meng, who has been serving in Congress since 2013 after replacing Gary Ackerman, used the platform to extend greetings and honor significant events.

On June 6, 2025, Meng extended her wishes for Eid al-Adha by stating “Eid Mubarak! Wishing everyone celebrating in Queens & around the world a blessed Eid al-Adha.” This message was directed towards those observing the holiday both locally in Queens and globally.

Later that day, she commemorated the anniversary of D-Day with a post reflecting on its historical significance. She wrote “81 years ago, allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy and turned the tides of World War II. On the anniversary of D-Day, let us all take a moment today to honor the brave soldiers in Queens and throughout the nation who put their lives on the line to defend our freedom.”

On June 8, 2025, Meng highlighted her advocacy for federal grant programs supporting firefighters. She acknowledged their sacrifices by tweeting “FDNY firefighters like those from Squad 288/HazMat 1 in Maspeth put their lives on the line to keep us safe. I’m fighting to fund federal grant programs, like AFG and SAFER, that help New York’s bravest continue saving lives.”

Grace Meng has lived most of her life in New York City and currently resides in Queens. She holds degrees from both the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
