Grace Meng, currently serving as the U.S. Representative for New York’s 6th district, has recently addressed several key issues through her official social media posts. Meng, who has represented the district since 2013 after succeeding Gary Ackerman and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012, used her platform to inform constituents about upcoming events and express her views on national matters.
On July 12, 2025, Meng announced a virtual event aimed at assisting veterans with VA loans and housing benefits. In a post dated July 14, 2025, Meng commented on recent dismissals within the State Department. She wrote: “The 1,300 State Department civil servants that were fired dedicated their lives to serving our nation and building a more peaceful future. Later that same day, Meng addressed the issue of conflict-related sexual violence. She posted: “Conflict-related sexual violence is a despicable war crime, with 95% of reported cases targeting women and girls. Proud to partner with @RepMariaSalazar to affirm the US role in ending it, holding perpetrators accountable, & bringing justice to victims.”
Meng was born in New York City in 1975 and resides in Queens. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1997 with a BA and earned her JD from Yeshiva University in 2002.
