U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, who represents New York’s 6th district, used her social media platform this week to highlight constituent services and community engagement events in Queens.
On August 28, Meng posted about her team’s ongoing support for constituents navigating federal agencies. She wrote, “My team & I are always here to help when constituents have questions or need help with federal agencies like Social Security, VA, IRS, U.S. Passport Agency, & more. This week we hosted mobile office hours at Queens Public Library in Bayside — where I used to check out books as a” (August 28, 2025).
Later that day, Meng addressed the role of federal workers in government service. She stated on her official account: “Federal workers take an oath to serve our country, regardless of who is in the Oval Office. They are experts in their fields and dedicated public servants. They shouldn’t be silenced for voicing their concerns about whether the government is doing its part to keep our” (August 28, 2025).
On August 29, Meng announced an upcoming community event involving local leadership: “Happening Tomorrow: Backpack Giveaway My team & I are proud to join Assemblywoman Larinda Hooks’ backpack giveaway at Lefrak City starting at 4:00pm! Details below.”
Meng has represented New York’s 6th district since 2013 after succeeding Gary Ackerman. Prior to her congressional tenure, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
