Grace Meng, a U.S. Congress member representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, has recently expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets. Her statements cover topics from Black History Month to international affairs and economic policies.
On February 1, 2025, Grace Meng emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of Black Americans during Black History Month. She stated that “Our nation & our community is a better place because of the contributions of Black Americans. During Black History Month we recognize their extraordinary achievements in every part of American life & culture. Together, let’s continue to uplift their voices & stories.”
Later that day, Meng shared her relief over the release of an American citizen held captive by Hamas. On February 1, she tweeted: “Relieved that American Keith Siegel is coming home & reuniting with his wife Aviva after months in Hamas captivity. Aviva was also taken hostage on 10/7. Since her release, she has been a fierce advocate for hostages & families. I’m grateful they are safe & together again.”
In another tweet posted on February 1, Meng addressed concerns about economic policies affecting everyday costs for families in Queens. She warned against tariffs by stating: “Lowering everyday costs for families is a priority in Queens. 25% tariffs will do the opposite. This means higher prices on the essentials, like gas & groceries.”
