Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, shared updates on congressional matters and local events in a series of social media posts this week.
On September 2, Meng announced her participation in a recent discussion with Dan Koh on the People’s Cabinet podcast. In her post, she stated: “In case you missed it, I joined the People’s Cabinet with Dan Koh to talk about what’s in store as Congress heads back to Washington, DC this week. Listen in as we talk about the Epstein files, the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’, the federal budget, & a potential government shutdown.” The podcast covered several topics expected to be addressed as Congress reconvenes.
Later that day, Meng turned her attention to local constituents by extending well wishes for the start of the academic year. She wrote: “Happy first week of school, Queens! As our students and teachers head back to the classroom this week, I’m wishing everyone a successful & inspiring school year.”
On September 3, Meng publicly recognized fellow legislator Jerry Nadler’s contributions. She posted: “.@RepJerryNadler has dedicated his life to serving New Yorkers. His commitment to protecting our democracy and fighting for civil rights has made a lasting impact on our city, state, & country. It has been an honor to serve alongside him in Congress.”
Meng has represented New York’s 6th District since succeeding Gary Ackerman in 2013 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City and residing in Queens at age 47, she holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
