U.S. Representative Grace Meng, who has served New York’s 6th district in Congress since 2013, posted a series of tweets on December 2, 2025, addressing local community engagement and national policy concerns.

In one post from earlier that day, Meng shared her experience visiting a neighborhood institution: “It’s always great to stop by @MaspethTownHall. I had a fun time speaking with seniors, children and parents taking part in various activities at the facility.” (December 2, 2025)

Later in the evening, Meng commented on immigration enforcement policies involving minors and families: “Detaining and deporting young children does nothing to improve public safety. Ripping them away from their parents won’t make our streets any safer either. The Administration claimed it would focus on dangerous criminals — why are they targeting kids and parents?” (December 2, 2025)

In another tweet that night, Meng addressed economic challenges facing Americans: ‘”I’m going to lower costs on day one.” Day 316: “Affordability is a Democrat scam” Tell that to the millions of Americans struggling to afford groceries, health care, housing, and home energy bills.’ (December 2, 2025)

Meng’s remarks come as she continues her tenure representing Queens-based New York’s 6th district in Congress—a position she has held since succeeding Gary Ackerman in 2013. Prior to her Congressional service, she was a member of the New York State Assembly from 2009 through 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens at age 47, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
