Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, posted a series of messages on social media addressing topics ranging from National Dog Day to concerns about federal economic policy.
On August 26, 2025, Meng shared a lighthearted message celebrating pets: “Happy #NationalDogDay from Team Meng’s favorite pups Bo & Bixby!”
Later that day, she acknowledged Women’s Equality Day and the significance of the 19th Amendment. In her post dated August 26, 2025, Meng stated: “Women’s Equality Day honors the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote. As a proud member of the @DemWomenCaucus, my colleagues and I carry the legacies of the brave women who fought for this right with us as we fight for women and girls every day.”
On August 27, 2025, Meng addressed economic issues in response to presidential actions regarding monetary policy. She wrote: “The President’s decision to interfere with the Federal Reserve will hurt workers and small businesses everywhere. Politics aside, this will make your groceries and rent more expensive and shrink your 401K.”
Meng has served in Congress since replacing Gary Ackerman in 2013 and previously represented her community in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, she holds degrees from both the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
