Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, and Science, posted a series of updates on January 8, 2026, highlighting her support for a bipartisan funding bill and extending congratulations to retiring Congressman Steny Hoyer.

Meng has represented New York’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Gary Ackerman in 2013. Prior to her tenure in Congress she served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens at age 47, Meng is an alumna of the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
