Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, has recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing transparency in government, internet access for education, and vaccine availability.
On September 3, 2025, Meng wrote: “Signed. Now, let’s release the files. The American people are demanding answers.”
The following day, she commented on recent Federal Communications Commission decisions regarding internet access in schools and libraries: “Internet access isn’t a luxury, it’s essential for people of all ages, and I’ve been proud to help secure money to increase it. The FCC’s decisions to overturn a rule that allowed schools & libraries to use federal funding to loan hotspots to students & teachers will be” (September 4, 2025).
Later that same day, Meng addressed public health concerns as flu season approaches: “Vaccines are safe, effective, and life-saving. With flu season right around the corner, they should be readily available to ALL Americans who want them.” (September 4, 2025).
Meng has represented New York’s 6th District in Congress since replacing Gary Ackerman in 2013. She previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens at age 47, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
