Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, posted a series of statements on her official social media account on September 13, 2025. The posts addressed topics ranging from the commemoration of the September 11 attacks to political violence and international security concerns.

In a post published at 01:12 UTC, Meng wrote: “My team and I attended several ceremonies in Bayside Hills, Forest Hills, and Middle Village marking the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, honoring the innocent lives lost and the brave first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero. Later that day, at 15:40 UTC, she commented on the state of American democracy by stating: “Political violence threatens everyone in our democracy—no matter your party. We need to take a stand together & reject this violence in all its forms https://t.co/K2s7I5a4BE”.

On international matters, Meng addressed security issues involving NATO and Russia. At 19:42 UTC she said: “19 Russian drones entering Polish airspace isn’t an accident. It’s a direct challenge to NATO and our security. I’m proud to cosponsor the Ukraine Support Act to send a strong message and hold Russia accountable for its aggression. I will always stand with Ukraine and our NATO”.

Meng has represented New York’s 6th District since replacing Gary Ackerman in Congress in 2013. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
