Grace Meng, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, has been actively addressing key issues through her social media platform. On June 2, 2025, she shared her legislative efforts and community engagements with her constituents.

On June 2, Meng announced that she “reintroduced my #ME4All Act to eradicate period poverty and improve access to menstrual products.” She highlighted the financial struggles faced by one in three Americans who menstruate and emphasized the need for Congress to address menstrual health as a human right.

Later that day, Meng discussed her engagement with local residents in Elmhurst. She stated that she “held a listening session in Elmhurst & my constituents’ concerns about potential cuts to Social Security are very real.” She reaffirmed her commitment to protecting Social Security benefits, which are crucial for many residents of Queens.

On June 3, Meng visited Squad 288/HazMat 1 in Maspeth alongside FDNY Commissioner Tucker. She noted that “Squad 288/HazMat 1 is a specialized @FDNY force responding to NYC’s most dangerous emergencies – losing 19 of their bravest on 9/11.” During the visit, she toured the facility and engaged with members of this specialized fire department unit.

Grace Meng has served New York’s communities both as a state assembly member from 2009 to 2012 and as a congressional representative since succeeding Gary Ackerman in Congress. Born in New York City in 1975, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
