Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, has recently addressed several community issues and initiatives in a series of posts on her social media account.

On February 11, 2026, Meng expressed support for local nurses who had been negotiating for improved contracts. She wrote, “I’ve been proud to stand with the 15,000 nurses who have held the line over the past four weeks, fighting for a fair contract for themselves and their patients. I’m grateful to hear they have struck a tentative deal with major wins for their members at Montefiore and Mt. Sinai.”

In another post dated February 12, 2026, Meng discussed upgrades to the Rego Park Library and concerns about limited library services during renovations. She stated, “The Rego Park Library is getting some exciting upgrades and won’t reopen until winter 2029–2030. But right now, only one day a week of mobile library service is planned. I’ve heard from many neighbors that it’s just not enough. I’ve reached out to Queens Public Library asking”.

Later that same day, Meng promoted free tax preparation services in partnership with local organizations. She posted, “Tax season is almost here! I’m teaming up with @UrbanUpboundNY & @Lynn4NYC to provide free tax prep and filing services. Don’t wait, book an appointment today”.

Meng has represented New York’s 6th District in Congress since succeeding Gary Ackerman in 2013 and previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, she holds degrees from the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
