Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, shared a series of statements on her social media account on February 10, 2026, addressing topics ranging from federal leadership in science to local tragedies and immigration enforcement.
In her first post at 17:37 UTC, Meng commented on recent developments in the nation’s space policy. She wrote, “The Administrator’s announcement is a welcome change from the self-inflicted harm done to American space and science leadership in the first year of the Trump Administration. Trump’s first year in office was marked by chaos and failure by NASA’s political leadership. I am pleased”.
Later that day at 19:03 UTC, Meng addressed a fatal fire incident in Elmhurst. She stated, “My heart breaks for the family of the mother who lost her life in this tragic fire in Elmhurst.
