U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, who represents New York’s 6th district, commented on recent political developments and local celebrations in a series of tweets posted on February 25, 2026.

In her first post at 03:54 UTC, Meng addressed recent claims about military compensation: “FYI: That $1,776 payment isn’t a new bonus for servicemembers. It’s just Trump repackaging a housing stipend that Congress had already approved.”

Shortly after, at 04:03 UTC, she responded to the President’s speech by writing: “The President painted a rosy picture tonight—but that’s not the America most people are living in. 250 years into this “great experiment,” we’re still working to make our union more just and equal. Democracy is hard work, but I’ll never stop fighting for every American’s shot at”

Later in the day, Meng shared her involvement in local festivities with a tweet at 16:59 UTC: “Lunar New Year in Queens! Grateful to welcome the Year of the Horse right here at home.”

Meng has represented New York’s 6th District in Congress since 2013 after succeeding Gary Ackerman. She previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
