Grace Meng, U.S. Congresswoman representing New York’s 6th district, posted a series of statements on her Twitter account addressing recent legislative and national events.
On December 13, 2025, Meng wrote: “This is a huge victory for our federal workers! Proud to push this one across the finish line in the House. Now, it’s time for our colleagues in the Senate to do the same.”
Later that day, following reports of violence overseas, Meng stated: “Deeply saddened to learn that two service members and an American citizen were killed in today’s attack in Syria. My heart is with their family and loved ones during this difficult time. As we learn more, I am praying for a quick recovery for all of the US soldiers and Syrian” (December 14, 2025).
Early on December 14, Meng responded to domestic tragedy as well: “Praying for those who lost their lives and those still in the hospital in critical condition following the tragic shooting at Brown University. We cannot continue to lose innocent lives to the gun violence epidemic. Congress must take action to protect our students and”.
Grace Meng has served as a member of Congress since 2013 after succeeding Gary Ackerman and previously represented constituents in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975, she currently resides in Queens. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan (1997) and a JD from Yeshiva University (2002).
