Grace Meng, a member of the U.S. Congress representing New York’s 6th district since 2013, recently used her social media platform to comment on issues ranging from domestic policy to international aid.

On July 23, 2025, Meng posted an update referencing a mundane kitchen discovery: “Exclusive: Fork found in kitchen”.

The following day, Meng addressed legislative efforts related to foreign aid and government spending. In her post dated July 24, 2025, she wrote: “I proposed an amendment to the 2026 National Security funding bill to tackle waste, fraud, & abuse created by the Administration’s destruction of life-saving foreign aid. Millions of dollars in contraception, medical supplies, & food are stuck in supply chains & the State”.

Later that same day, Meng commented on federal tariff policy and its potential effects on consumer prices. She stated: “The Administration’s tariff policy could force orange juice prices to rise by 20-25%. Families shouldn’t be paying the price for these reckless tariffs. Republicans ran on affordability. They need to start acting on it.”

Meng has been active in public service for over a decade; before joining Congress in 2013 after replacing Gary Ackerman, she served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens at age 47, Meng holds degrees from both the University of Michigan (BA) and Yeshiva University (JD).
