U.S. Congresswoman Grace Meng, who represents New York’s 6th district, has recently used her social media platform to address a series of national issues, including the dismissal of FBI agents, oversight of federal resources, and the anniversary of Social Security.

On August 12, 2025, Meng criticized actions by the Administration regarding federal law enforcement personnel. She stated, “The Administration continues to fire experienced FBI agents without due process. This is wrong. Losing these experienced agents harms our country’s ability to fight crime and terrorism.”

The following day, August 13, Meng announced her leadership in a congressional effort calling for greater accountability within the State Department. She wrote, “I was proud to lead 80 Democrats, along with @RepDonBeyer, @RepLoisFrankel and @RepJudyChu, to demand an investigation into the State Department’s planned destruction of millions of dollars worth of food and contraceptives. These supplies were purchased with taxpayer dollars.”

On August 14, Meng marked a milestone for a foundational social program in American life. She posted: “Proud to join @AARPNY and Queens seniors in Corona to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Social Security. #SocialSecurity is a financial lifeline for hundreds of thousands of people in our borough and I will aways fight to protect this vital program. #SocSec90”

Grace Meng has served as a member of Congress since 2013 after replacing Gary Ackerman and previously represented her community in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. Born in New York City in 1975 and currently residing in Queens, Meng holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Yeshiva University.
