New York City FC has announced the nominees for the Etihad Player of the Month award for July, highlighting strong performances from Maxi Moralez, Alonso Martínez, and Hannes Wolf.

Maxi Moralez played a significant role throughout July, contributing in all five matches. He assisted Andrés Perea’s goal in Kansas City and added two more assists in Dallas. His corner kick led to Jonny Shore’s first MLS goal, and he also set up Alonso Martínez during a 4-3 win over Dallas. The club stated, “Moralez’s influence was felt throughout the month, with his leadership and experience continuing to guide the team. His contributions make him a deserving nominee for Player of the Month.”

Alonso Martínez stood out for his scoring ability. He secured a late winner against Orlando and scored a hat-trick in Dallas that helped turn a deficit into victory. According to New York City FC, “That performance not only secured three valuable points but also took Martínez beyond 10 MLS goals for the season—marking his second consecutive double-digit campaign.” The club added, “His efficiency and timing in the final third highlight his value to the squad.”

Hannes Wolf received his third straight nomination after consistent creative play on both offense and defense. He began July with a goal and an assist against Toronto but missed one match due to injury before returning to provide another assist in Dallas. New York City FC said, “Beyond the numbers, Wolf’s work rate and positioning have made him a key figure in City’s midfield, and his form continues to be a vital part of the team’s success in 2025.”

Voting is now open for fans to select their choice for Etihad Player of the Month.
