New York City FC and Electronic Arts Inc. have announced the renewal of their partnership, which will continue EA SPORTS’ role as an official partner of the soccer club.
The collaboration is designed to connect fans with both the football simulation game and the club itself. The agreement includes exclusive content and immersive experiences for supporters, such as match day activations and collaborative content initiatives.
“EA SPORTS is more than a game — it’s a global football platform that’s deeply embedded in the culture of our sport,” said Brent Simmons, Head of Partnership Marketing at New York City FC. “Together, we’re giving fans across New York and beyond new ways to experience the passion of the game, both in the stadium and in EA SPORTS FC for years to come.”
“We’re proud to renew our partnership with New York City FC, a club that captures both the passion of its fans and the energy of its city,” said James Taylor, Director of Football Partnerships at EA SPORTS FC. “This renewal celebrates New York’s place in the global football community and gives supporters an authentic way to connect with the club through EA SPORTS FC 26 and FC Mobile.”
EA SPORTS FC 26 features over 20,000 athletes from more than 750 clubs and national teams, across more than 120 stadiums and 35 leagues. The partnerships with various clubs help bring authenticity to the video game franchise by including players from major leagues around the world, such as Major League Soccer (MLS) and National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).
Pre-orders are available for EA SPORTS FC 26 ahead of its worldwide release on September 26, 2025. The game will be accessible on several platforms including PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Amazon Luna, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Early access through the Ultimate Edition begins on September 19, 2025. More information can be found at https://ea.com/fc26.
New York City FC was established as Major League Soccer’s twentieth franchise in May 2013. The team began competing in MLS in March 2015 as its first club located within New York City’s five boroughs. In recent years, NYCFC has won both MLS Cup (2021) and Campeones Cup (2022), marking notable achievements for a professional sports team based in New York.
The organization also operates NYCFC II in MLS NEXT Pro—providing a pathway from youth academies to professional play—and runs an academy featuring age groups from U-12 to U-18. Its Academy became the first nationwide to win back-to-back national titles at U-19 level.
NYCFC supports local communities through its foundation programs such as City in the Community (CITC). One initiative includes building mini-soccer pitches throughout New York neighborhoods via a public-private partnership known as NYCSI. By 2021, NYCSI completed its initial goal of opening 50 pitches across NYC neighborhoods; plans are underway to add more before FIFA World Cup 2026 matches take place across North America.
Electronic Arts Inc., headquartered in Redwood City, California, develops digital interactive entertainment products including games like Battlefield and Apex Legends alongside EA SPORTS titles such as Madden NFL and F1. In fiscal year 2025, EA reported approximately $7.5 billion in GAAP net revenue.
