Columbia lacrosse senior midfielder Cordelia Flemming was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week for games played April 20-26, according to an announcement from the league office on Apr. 27.

This recognition highlights Flemming’s performance in Columbia’s recent overtime win against Harvard, where she contributed two ground balls, two caused turnovers, and four draw controls. Her defensive work was a key factor in helping the Lions secure what is described as their most significant victory under coach Anne Murray.

Flemming is the second Columbia player to receive an Ivy League weekly honor this season. Earlier in February, Michelle Zhai was named Offensive Player of the Week. The last time a Columbia player earned such recognition before this season was Lindsey Ewertsen in 2019.

The Lions’ season concluded after Saturday’s game against Harvard. Flemming ended her college career with 128 draw controls, placing her fifth all-time in program history.

A full recap of Saturday’s game is available through Columbia athletics channels. For ongoing updates about Columbia lacrosse, fans are encouraged to follow @CULionsLax on social media and visit GoColumbiaLions.com.
