$10.9 Billion Announced and Headed to New York
Over 269 Projects Identified for Funding
Will Boost Good-Paying Jobs and Long-Term Economic Growth
New York, NY – Congressman Dan Goldman (NY-10) today celebrated projects made possible by the historic federal investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), which are improving quality of life, restoring economic competitiveness, and creating good-paying jobs throughout New York. $10.9 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding has been announced and is headed to New York with over 269 specific projects identified for funding. These projects range from public transportation improvements to clean energy investments and combatting food insecurity.
“The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was a monumental achievement for our communities here in New York,” Congressman Dan Goldman said. “Infrastructure is the lifeblood of our economy and connects us to one another, and the new projects and repairs these investments make possible will ensure that New Yorkers for generations to come have the opportunity to thrive in our city and state.”
The BIL is bringing thousands of good paying jobs and long-term economic growth by delivering funds to a number of key projects in New York, including:
- $2.2 billion to improve public transportation options across the state in fiscal year 2022 and 2023
- $817.9 million in dedicated formula funding for bridges in 2022 and 2023
- $469.2 million has been allocated to New York for clean energy, energy efficiency, and power in 2022 and 2023
- $292 million Mega grant to Amtrak for Hudson Yards Concrete Casing, Section 3
- $63.3 million in 2022 and 2023 to build out a network of EV chargers across the state
- $47 million for a new project that would provide on-site water infrastructure to 260 food-producing community gardens under the jurisdiction of NYC Parks
- $18.5 million in New York City rebate awards to three New York City school districts, allowing the purchase of 51 new clean school buses
