Columbia University sophomore Andreea Ghiorghisor represented Romania at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, as one of 32 female squash players selected by the sport’s international federation. The World Games is an international event held every four years featuring sports not included in the Olympic Games.
Ghiorghisor began her tournament with a loss to Ka Yi Lee of Hong Kong in the round of 32. She was then defeated by Lucia Bautista from Colombia during the Round of 16 Plate Match. On August 10, Ghiorghisor secured a win against Linglu Cheng of China in the Quarterfinals of the Consolation Plate but concluded her run after falling to Ziyuan Yin, also from China, in the Consolation Plate Semifinals.
