The Columbia University women’s basketball program has announced the hiring of two new staff members for the 2025-26 season. Kizmahr Grell joins as an assistant coach, while Selina Lim takes on the role of general manager.
Head coach Megan Griffith expressed her enthusiasm about the new additions, stating, “I could not be more excited to add Kizmahr and Selina to our staff.” She highlighted Grell’s extensive professional basketball experience and his dedication to honing his craft. “He is an extremely intentional worker who is dedicated to honing his craft,” Griffith added.
Griffith also praised Lim’s potential impact on the team’s operations and development strategies. “Selina will make an immediate impact on our organizational flow, daily operations and development strategies,” she said.
Grell is a Dickinson College alumnus who had a successful collegiate basketball career before playing professionally in Europe and South America. His coaching experience includes 11 years at Sports Challenge Leadership Academy, along with a recent position as senior manager of athletics at Dream Charter School.
Lim, a native New Yorker, played basketball at Hunter College and furthered her education at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her experience includes roles in Columbia summer camps and assisting with operations for BIG EAST basketball tournaments.
The announcement reflects Columbia University’s commitment to enhancing its women’s basketball program by bringing in experienced professionals like Grell and Lim.
