The Columbia women’s tennis team is set to host Michigan State this Saturday at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center. The nonconference match will begin at 1 p.m., with live coverage available through Columbia’s stretch portal and live scores accessible online.

Columbia recently secured a 4-1 victory over Brown, finishing third at the ECAC Championships held at the Lenz Tennis Center in Princeton, New Jersey. The Lions gained an early lead by winning the doubles point and extended their advantage in singles play. Malak El Allami clinched the win for Columbia with a three-set victory at No. 2 singles.

Michigan State arrives with a 5-0 record this season, all achieved on home courts. Their latest win was a 4-2 result against Ball State on February 8 at the MSU Indoor Tennis Center. This weekend marks Michigan State’s first road match of the spring season. Sophomore Amara Brahmbhatt is ranked No. 116 in ITA singles rankings, while Matilde Morais and Elie Blackford are ranked No. 88 as a doubles pair.

Saturday’s contest will be the fourth meeting between Columbia and Michigan State in as many years. Columbia leads the series 3-0, including two victories in East Lansing in 2022 and 2024. In their most recent encounter on March 2, 2025, also at Milstein Family Tennis Center, Columbia won 4-2 with Gayathri Krishnan and Malak El Allami securing wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions.
