The Columbia women’s tennis team, currently ranked No. 46 in the nation, will conclude its two-match homestand on Wednesday by hosting Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center. The nonconference match is set to begin at 1 p.m.

Live coverage of the match will be available through Columbia’s stretch portal, and fans can also follow live scores online.

In their most recent outing, Columbia secured a sweep over Michigan State at home. The doubles point was clinched by Michelle Li and Amber Yin on court two. In singles play, Amber Yin, Emily Baek, and Gayathri Krishnan each won in straight sets against their opponents from Michigan State.

According to the latest ITA team rankings, all eight Ivy League women’s tennis teams are among the top 75 nationally. Columbia is one of five Ivy League programs inside the top 50, positioned just behind Penn at No. 45. In singles rankings, Malak El Allami is listed at No. 121 and is one of only two Ivy League players in the top 125.

Columbia has been consistent in doubles competition this season, winning the doubles point in all seven dual matches so far. This success has contributed to their current 5-2 record. The pairing of Gayathri Krishnan and Lin holds a combined record of 12-2 for the season and remains undefeated (5-0) in spring matches; they were also ahead when two other matches were abandoned. Baek and Wang have compiled a 7-1 mark as partners this year (5-0 in spring), while El Allami and Yin went 10-2 together previously; Yin and Michelle Li are now undefeated as a pair with a 2-0 record.

On court one, junior Gayathri Krishnan continues her strong performance with an overall record of 18-5 for this season and an active seven-match unbeaten streak. Last week she defeated Michigan State’s Amara Brahmbhatt by scores of 6-2, 6-3. Krishnan is also recognized as last year’s Ivy League Player of the Year with a career mark of 67 wins and 22 losses.

FDU arrives with an overall record of three wins and three losses but has momentum after consecutive victories over SFU and NJIT—both by narrow margins (4-3). On away courts this spring FDU holds a record of two wins against three defeats. Senior Anatastasia Lim leads FDU’s singles lineup with an overall mark of nine wins to seven losses; she is three-for-five when playing at No.1 singles.

This contest marks only the third meeting between these regional rivals—and their first since January 2011—where Columbia holds a perfect series record (2–0). Their previous encounters saw Columbia win both times: once in 2010 (6–1) and again in early 2011 (7–0).
